Vacation is over, it’s time to get back to work… almost. I’m actually getting back to work on writing on Wednesday. I’m currently working on revising the metadata and keywords for all of my books. It’s been a minute since I last updated mine, so it’s well and truly past time.
Yes, I’m updating all of them.
Now, this sort of requires a lot of thinking about what the average reader plugs into the search engine when they’re looking for something new. Once you have something you think is going to work, you plug that in as a keyword string, and hopefully your books will start selling.
Hopefully.
There’s more to it than that, but all you can really control is what’s in the keyword field in your metadata. There are services that say they’ll tell you exactly what your keywords need to be in order to sell, but those are all subscription services, and with me being on the shelf for a couple of months? Well, I’m not subscribing to anything this year.
So I’m brainstorming keywords and we’ll see what happens.
