Good news

An eventful day!

First, I found this fantastic review of both House of Sable Locks and Tales from the Arena: Opening Gambit. I particularly like the reference to the House as “a… Victorian BDSM Disneyland.”

Then… I found out that House of Sable Locks is a finalist for Best Bisexual Erotica in the Bisexual Book Awards!

(Is it petty for my second reaction to be “Take that, RITAs!”  Second reaction because my first was “Holy crap, I finalled!”)

Signed, Sealed, Delivered…

Today is a wonderful day. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and I just was informed that the signed contract has arrived at Circlet Press.

Wait, what signed contract?

I am pleased, proud, awed, and still more than a little gobsmacked, to announce that the audio rights to  House of Sable Locks have been acquired by Audible.com.

Yep. I’m going to have an audiobook.

Now, I’ve never done this before. So I know NOTHING about the process. This is going to be a learning experience for me, and I’ll post what I can as we go.

Breathe, Liz! Breathe!!!!

Mixed emotions.

Yesterday was a real up and down day. I found out that Philip the Foole, a well-known BDSM expert and a long-time net friend, had passed away unexpectedly on Sunday the 14th. I have known Philip (virtually, anyway) for so many years not that I’m not even sure I can put a number to it, and the last time I spoke to him, it was through Laura Antoniou’s Facebook page, where he told me (and everyone else) how much he liked “Oh, Promise Me!”

Hard to get my brains around the fact that he’s gone. I’d always hoped to meet him in person.

A few hours after I learned about Philip, I got the email from Pagan Writers Press that they were interested in the novella I sent off to them a few months ago. The sale of From Dusk ’til Dawn is therefore a little bittersweet.

And the good news keeps on coming!

I found out when I opened my email this morning that Princes of Air has finaled in the Passionate Plume contest — the published contest of the Passionate Ink chapter of the Romance Writers of America!

Oh… me…

This is a big deal for me. Not only is this contest judging the best of published erotica in the RWA… but Princes didn’t even make the cut last year, when I entered it as an unpublished manuscript in the Stroke of Midnight (the Passionate Ink unpublished contest).

Do I care if I win? I don’t think so. Finalling is a big enough deal for me! I’ll find out the end of July, though. (Now I really do wish I could go to Nationals! Can’t afford the trip to Anaheim, though.)
