SOLD!

I Have An Excite!!!

Why am I excited? Because Friday, this happened:

I had NO idea that the release date was Friday, or I’d have said something sooner!

Now, this new edition contains two bits of new material. The first is old new — I wrote The Ice Raven for the Princes of Air launch ten years ago, and it was serialized on the Circlet Livejournal. It’s never before been available for sale.

The second new bit of material is an exciting announcement, because you get a sneak peak at the first chapter of The White Raven: Morrigan’s Heir… coming in 2023 from Riverdale Avenue Books!

Lorcan finally gets his own books! Two of them — I’m starting The White Raven: Morrigan’s Wrath today. (That was the mystery synopsis I was working on a few weeks back.)

Yes, I am still going to be working on The Sea Prince.

In other writing news, I finished the rewrite of Children of Dreams, and I’ll be setting up a preorder for that and Visions in Smoke this week.  I’ll post links to those on all the social media once they’re up. Bones of Earth went live last week, and is updating everywhere. Not sure what’s happening with the paperbacks — they’re listed as publishing, but Amazon hasn’t updated to the new information, and Barnes and Noble is still listing the old prices. Remember, if you find books with the old covers, it’s the old content.

Not much else to share, and I need to get on getting on to writing.

Have a great week!!!

This, that and the other thing.

This:

Allergies suck.

Allergies that turn into sinus problems suck more.

Allergies that turn into sinus problems that turn into bronchitis need to not exist.

That:

Since I have bronchitis, I haven’t really been able to do much. My son has been having a lot more screen time than he usually gets in the summer, and I have had to stop exercising this week (if you follow me on Instagram, you know about my workouts). I have to rest, so I’ve been focusing on a sedentary activity — edits on Burden of Truth. Those should go back to Forbidden Fiction in the next few days.

The Other Thing:

Did you ever forget that you applied for something? I did. So having a contract arrive in my inbox was a very nice surprise this evening.  I am pleased to be able to say that my BDSM vampire short story Layover will be appearing in the upcoming anthology Blood in the Rain II from Cwtch Press. This will be my first time working with Cwtch, and I’m looking forward to it!

Might have just gotten whiplash, it was that fast!

This morning, I sent the manuscripts for Tales from the Arena over to Circlet, asking if they were interested in acquiring the reprint rights.

This afternoon, I got an email from Cecilia — “MINE!”

A few minutes later, this went out:

So, I think it’s safe to say that Circlet Press is acquiring the reprint rights to both Tales from the Arena books!

School days, school days…

…will mean something entirely different soon.

My newest novel, The School, has been acquired by Forbidden Fiction. Manuscript is delivered, contract is signed, edits will begin whenever they begin.

The School is a dark, post-apocalyptic fantasy, featuring my first ever Asexual character.* Very dark. REALLY dark. I went all in on the dark.** To the point that I had three beta readers back out when I warned them. Now, most of the time, I don’t know where the dark comes from. For this one, I do.

A year ago in December, my sister and her husband both caught that nasty flu. My sister ended up in the hospital, and I jumped on a plane and flew from Florida to North Carolina to help out with their daughters. Which involved taking the girls to church — three times in one day (Mass, rehearsals for the Christmas pageant for the younger, and religious education for the older one).

So, six times in one day, I passed the Stonewall Jackson Youth Development Center.

The history of this place is lurid at best. And not long after came the discovery of bodies at the Florida School for Boys.

Add them both together, and you have The School.

“Be a good boy, or you’ll get sent to The School….”

* Yes. Erotic romance with an Ace hero. The research on this was interesting. I learned a lot.
** And you thought chapter 7 was bad dark…

Signed, Sealed, Delivered…

Today is a wonderful day. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and I just was informed that the signed contract has arrived at Circlet Press.

Wait, what signed contract?

I am pleased, proud, awed, and still more than a little gobsmacked, to announce that the audio rights to  House of Sable Locks have been acquired by Audible.com.

Yep. I’m going to have an audiobook.

Now, I’ve never done this before. So I know NOTHING about the process. This is going to be a learning experience for me, and I’ll post what I can as we go.

Breathe, Liz! Breathe!!!!

Another sale!

The short story Infernal Machine, which originally appeared in the anthology Carnal Machines, has been accepted into the 2014 Best Men’s Erotica from Burning Book Press!

Infernal Machine was written by my close personal friend Elias A. St. James. (wink)

Mixed emotions.

Yesterday was a real up and down day. I found out that Philip the Foole, a well-known BDSM expert and a long-time net friend, had passed away unexpectedly on Sunday the 14th. I have known Philip (virtually, anyway) for so many years not that I’m not even sure I can put a number to it, and the last time I spoke to him, it was through Laura Antoniou’s Facebook page, where he told me (and everyone else) how much he liked “Oh, Promise Me!”

Hard to get my brains around the fact that he’s gone. I’d always hoped to meet him in person.

A few hours after I learned about Philip, I got the email from Pagan Writers Press that they were interested in the novella I sent off to them a few months ago. The sale of From Dusk ’til Dawn is therefore a little bittersweet.
