Signed, Sealed, Delivered…

Today is a wonderful day. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and I just was informed that the signed contract has arrived at Circlet Press.

Wait, what signed contract?

I am pleased, proud, awed, and still more than a little gobsmacked, to announce that the audio rights to  House of Sable Locks have been acquired by Audible.com.

Yep. I’m going to have an audiobook.

Now, I’ve never done this before. So I know NOTHING about the process. This is going to be a learning experience for me, and I’ll post what I can as we go.

Breathe, Liz! Breathe!!!!

My mind is officially blown…

And I just got a message through Facebook. Someone in SWITZERLAND picked the book up after Laura Antoniou mentioned it on Facebook this morning.

She finished it just a few minutes ago. And had to tell me how much she loved it, and that she was starting it over again.

My new darling.

I’m working on Tales from the Arena, and it is now humming along nicely. I’ve slightly more than a third of the way in, with a June 1st deadline.

And some of these scenes, oh, boy…

“I’m honored,” Gavir said. He took Iras’ hand in his and squeezed her fingers. “I just wish I were in better shape right now. I’m not in any condition to see to you the way you’re needing, Iras.”

Iras arched an eyebrow, feeling a surge of indignant anger. “Really? And what do I need, Kian-ti-os?”

He didn’t rise. He just smiled, gesturing to one of the gray-clad novices who acted as servitors in the Lounge. He didn’t say anything until a pair of drinks had been delivered to the table. Then he leaned forward, and his voice was a low growl when he answered, “You need to be bound. Bound to my whim and paraded on a lead throughout the Arena so that everyone knows you are mine. You need to be beaten, often and thoroughly, so that you never forget just how much regard I have for you and how dear to me you truly are. And you need to be taken, bent over a table and savaged until your screams of pleasure and your cries for mercy ring from the very rafters. That, my dear, Iras, is what you need.” He sat back, raised his drink, and smiled. “Unfortunately, it’s not what I can give you. Not tonight. Would you settle for dinner?”

That is, I think, one of the hottest scenes I’ve written to date.

I… umm… wait, they mean ME???

No Safewords released today as an ebook.

I saw the cover copy for the first time about ten minutes ago. And I’m looking for someone to poke me and wake me up…

“Ten stories of BDSM, submission, and service set in the secret world of Laura Antoniou’s Marketplace. The Marketplace has fans all over the world, and Antoniou invited them to come play in her fictional sandbox/dungeon. Numbered among those fans happen to be some of the top erotica and alternative sexuality writers in the world, including D.L. King, Sassafras Lowrey, and Elizabeth Schechter.”

One of the top erotic writers in the world? ME????

On second thought, DON’T WAKE ME UP!!!!

An honor to be nominated

Boy, THERE is something I never thought I’d say!

Circlet Press will be 20 years old this year. Since the beginning, they’ve been a publisher of some wonderful erotica, including mine. And no, I’m not just saying that because they are my publisher. I’ve been reading Circlet Press erotica since the early days. That’s why I WENT with them.

They’ve decided to put out a best of anthology, and have opened a poll to pick the best of the digital library. And I am truly flattered that two of my stories have made the cut, and are on the poll.  What is amusing me is that the two stories that they’ve chosen are the two that have spawned novels: The Succubus, which appeared in Like Clockwork, and was the springboard for House of the Sable Locks, and The Hand You’re Dealt, originally appearing in Like a Sacred Desire, and which was the launching pad for Heart’s Master.

Now, I’m not saying you should run over and vote… what, am I nuts? OF COURSE I’m saying you should run over and vote! I’m just not saying you should vote for me. There is a LOT of good erotica on that list. Go check it out!
