I’m not sure. Spring in Florida is a fleeting thing. It’s cold in February, then you have a day or two of beautiful weather. Then beautiful weather and aggressive pollen, and then BAM! Summer.
I think we’re in the beautiful weather with rapidly approaching aggressive pollen. My blue car isn’t green YET. But I think that will happen soon.
Work continues — I’ve slowed down a little in the past week because I’m doing a beta read for a book coming out soon from Book View Cafe. Last week, Song of Destiny released. I’m reading the next book in the series and enjoying it immensely. I’m also writing a fight scene in The White Raven: Morrigan’s Wrath, and that slows me down a LOT. I mentioned this to Darling Editor, and he offered to go get the mop. (#IYKYK) Between these two, it means that work on The Sea Prince has slowed to a crawl. Actually, it went backward since last week, since I edited the last chapter trying to get a better handle on one character who keeps giving me mixed signals.

If it is approaching spring, I need to get out and clean out my garden beds. One of them has been taken over by volunteer tomatoes, and I need to thin that out and create some order out of chaos. The other bed has my broccoli plants that never did anything, and my one lonely pepper plant that produced some very nice heirloom peppers. I need to clean that bed out, plant the seed potatoes that I have, and transplant some of the tomatoes from the other bed. And I might start some more peppers from the seeds I saved. The rock garden in the back needs to be cleaned up, and I need to go out and look at it and see why one of the hibiscus I can see from my window is leaning on it’s neighbor like a drunken sailor. I think the squirrels have been at the hibiscus again.
I think I know what I’m doing next weekend. It’ll probably take me a weekend or two to get everything set up, and then I’ll be off for ICFA. I really am looking forward to that. I’m waiting for the schedule so I can plan out what presentations I want to see. (checks website … the schedule is up!!!!)
Have a great week, everyone! Time to go make choices!
