Okay, I’m calling it.
Table of Stone will NOT be done by the deadline of by Friday. I’m giving myself another month. Which is going to be interesting, because you know what is done on Friday?
School.
Well, technically, school actually ends a week from tomorrow. But the school where J attends wanted to be done on Friday, and the board voted to end school on Friday because why have ONE half day after a day off? The County, however, said they had to have that silly last day. So the school said, Fine, we’ll have school (wink wink). So, sending J in for a half day for one day, on a day when they’re not going to penalize him for being out? Makes no sense.
Anyhow, here is how things stand.
Table of Stone
Swords of Charlemagne, Book 4
Forged in Fire
Heir to the Firstborn, Book 2
I’m looking at maybe another five chapters in Table of Stone. So I should be done well before the end of June (stop laughing).
Forged in Fire, on the other hand, is turning in to a monster. I haven’t wandered too much off outline. What I didn’t realize is just how many words it would take to get to this point of the outline! I’m working on chapter 22. Which means we might be looking at about forty chapters all together.
MONSTER book!
I’m going to keep this blog post short, because I need to get other words in. And I need to prep for my panels at Oasis, which is the weekend after next. If you’re in Maitland, come and say hi!
