Table of Stone
Swords of Charlemagne, Book 4
Forged in Fire
Heir to the Firstborn, Book 2
Here we are. There are ten days left of school…. and Table of Stone is nowhere NEAR done. Looking at it, I’ve got maybe five and a half chapters left. And a denouement that I’ve already written, but that might need to be tweaked. I think this might be the first time in a long time where I blow a deadline. Now, granted, it’s a personal deadline, but still. I’ve never had a book run over into summer break before.
It would be easy to say, “Well, Liz, it’s because you’re working on two books! You’ve never done that before either!” And the answer to that is, yes I have. Written in Water and Ashes and Light were written concurrently, and I brought both of them in early. Now, I was laid up with a broken toe at the time, but…
Yeah, I think we’ll say it’s all the fault of my shoulder. My output picked up dramatically once I wasn’t in pain any more Hrm… imagine that!
In other book news,
Forged in Fire looks like it will be running… long. Way long. I might not have it done in time for
Indie Bookfest in August long. Yeah, that long. I’m writing chapter 22 currently, and there’s still a ways to go. This one is going to be a monster — I’ll have to update that wordcount, but I think we’ll be pushing the 100K word mark. 85K isn’t going to cut it.
I’ll be heading out to
Oasis in a few weeks, and I can’t wait for that! I’ll have a table in the dealers room, and I’ll be bringing out my beads — I’m finally going to be selling off the raw materials from my jewelry business, so if you want good quality beads CHEAP, come find me at Oasis!
All right. Let me get back to the writing. This book won’t finish itself.
